Extended Day Program
Information
All of our Extended Day Programs are offered every day that school is in session with the following exceptions:
- The day before Thanksgiving
- The day beginning Christmas break
- Holy Thursday
- The last day of school
Morning Care Information
Morning Care begins @ 7:00 AM daily, every day that school is in session. Children in all grades are welcome and should be walked to the Extended Day Door (door 10) from the rear parking lot, or, during the Winter months to Door 2, the brown door to the left of the Lobby doors. Morning Care ends when the bell rings for classes to enter the school. Older students may go outside with their class at 8:10 AM. All younger students remain in the Extended Day room until a teacher comes for them. Refer to the Extended Day Fee Schedule for payment options.
Aftercare Information
Aftercare begins at 2:45 PM dismissal, and ends promptly at 5:30 PM, every day school is in session, with the exceptions noted above. Students not picked up by 2:50 PM, will be sent to the Aftercare Program, and, charges will incur and is due @ pick up. There is a charge of $5.00/minute, payable upon pickup, for any student picked up at any time after 5:30 PM until 5:45 PM plus $10/minute after 5:45 PM.
All students through Grade 8 are welcome. Children will have snack, indoor and outdoor play, (weather permitting), games and seasonal craft activities to choose from. The Homework Room is encouraged for students in grades 2-8, and provides a structured, quiet place as well as assistance, from volunteers, staff, NHS & NJHS volunteers, for children to complete their homework. The Homework Room is open until 4:00 PM or later depending on staffing and student need. With adequate staffing, the computer room may be available for children in grades 5-8 only. After Care is available on early release days from 11:00 AM – 5:30 PM, with the exception of the days listed above. Please refer to the Extended Day Fee Schedule for payment options.
Aftercare Drop-In
Aftercare Drop-in – Students are welcome on a drop-in basis. Payment for drop-in is $15 for the first hour, 2:45 PM-4:00 PM, and $25 if picked up any later than 4:00 PM until 5:30 PM, and is due at pickup. Any student that utilizes drop-in status must have an Extended Day Program Emergency Form on file with the program. It is suggested that an Extended Day Program Emergency Form be submitted at the beginning of the school year so one will be on file. An Emergency Form can be obtained from the Program Room or on the school web site.
